What is dual camera phone?
To be brief, a dual camera phone refers to a smartphone which has dual cameras on the rear. The built in dual camera is actually a dual lens camera which is also called stereo camera and makes the picture more vivid and detailed. A stereo camera is a type of camera with two or more lenses with a separate image sensor or film frame for each lens. This allows the camera to simulate human binocular vision, and therefore gives it the ability to capture three-dimensional images, a process known as stereo photography. Another dual camera is used to capture both still images and videos.
How does dual camera phone work?
Dual camera phones feature use two cameras including a primary camera and a second primary camera. Primary camera does the same work or with little modification as it does in typical smartphone while the second primary camera normally has 2 features. The first is to add clarity of the image with the help ofmonochrome feature and the second is forzoomingpurpose. And sometimes in a dual lens camera setup one camera is used to take the pictures and the other one is to capture the depth of field. Huawei honor dual camera phone, LG G5 dual camera phone and HTC One M8 all use these features.

Huawei honor is made by Huawei, the Chinese smartphone company. However you can now preorder honor P9, its latest smartphone, on Huawei’s website in US. Talking about the dual lens camera on P9, One lens is monochrome and the other is RGB. Huawei says the two work together to make photos more vivid and detailed. Both cameras together can also change the depth of field to give your shots more of the professional look usually associated with DSLR cameras. For a black-and-white effect, you can switch to a monochrome mode.
Other phones from Huawei also equips with dual cameras, such as Huawei Honor 6 Plus and Honor V8/8.
The LG G5 also has dual rear-facing cameras (one 16-megapixel f/1.8 and one 8-megapixel f/2.4). The 16-megapixel camera has a 78-degree angle field of view (which is still wider than the 64-degree angle FOV on the iPhone 6S) and takes better photos in low-light conditions. The secondary 8-megapixel camera has a 135-degree ultra-wide angle FOV — the widest on any smartphone camera — which is what makes it such a killer feature. Huawei P9 vs LG G5.

Unlike the double lens of Huawei and LG, the dual cameras on HTC One M8 are set vertically but still have better ability to take a more impressive picture.
